JOB DESCRIPTION

This virtual and web programs software engineer will work collaboratively with 3D artists and courseware developers to design and implement new virtual training environments and web based training. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have a can-do attitude, and be willing to take ownership and help grow the capabilities of our growing engineering team. This position will provide an experienced engineer the opportunity to apply their existing knowledge of object oriented development and and grow domain knowledge in the areas serious game and web development (including React, Node.js, Unity Framework, JavaScript aids, military communication protocols, basic flight maneuvers, tactics, artificial intelligence, etc.).
The engineer will be expected to contribute to the development of new features and resolution of existing defects. This includes contributing to the creation of software requirements/technical specification, implementation, test, and deployment. On some projects, candidate may perform independent Software Verification. The candidate will collaborate with teammates and other engineering disciplines, including: instructional systems developers, courseware developers, 3d artists,3d animators engineers, and program management.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1) Web development experience to include HTML, CSS, JavaScript is required
2) Strong knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and Design Patterns is required
3) Web development experience using React or other JS framework is a plus
4) The ability to work in a team environment is required
5) Strong analytical/debug and SW test skills desired
6) Software Development experience following Software Engineering principles and practices is a plus
7) Experience in object-oriented software development using C/C++/C#, Java or other languages is a plus
8) Familiarity with Git or other version control system is a plus

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree in related discipline

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

Must be US citizen
Must be able to obtain a security clearance
Active security clearance is desired
Travel up to 5% required.
