JOB DESCRIPTION
The Technical Illustrator will develop graphics and illustrations for use in technical manuals, illustrated parts manuals, modification work orders, training materials, and other technical documentation.  Illustrations will be generated by converting source materials (line art, photographs, engineering drawings or models, or prototype hardware) into isometric or orthographic line art as 2-D illustrations for use in page based technical manuals or as 3-D graphics suitable or multimedia materials.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1) Skilled in using engineering drawings to determine part proportions and visual elements.
2) Demonstrated ability to conceptualize from engineering drawings and photos to create illustrations in a different orientation or view point than the view shown in the source material.
3) Convert CAD drawings of system schematics to fold-out illustrations schematics or system diagrams.  Illustrator may also be involved with validating illustrations and maintenance analysis.
4) Must be familiar with MIL-STDs 40051-1 and -2 and MIL-STD-38784
5) Experience working with limited supervisory oversight.
6) Proven results oriented performance with excellent problem solving abilities, decision-making and organizational skills, as well as the capability to adapt to change and handle conflict situations calmly and dependably. 
7) Formal education or equivalent in graphic arts, or engineering related fields.
8) Proficiency with Iso Draw, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor Degree or 8 years equivalent

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)
Secret Clearance
5% Travel
