JOB DESCRIPTION

The expediting clerk will monitor open purchase orders to ensure materials are delivered in the specified amount of time, to the correct delivery location. The expediting clerk will also maintain a record of outstanding purchase orders as well as vendor responses to delays or issues and relay information collected to all affiliated parties, and work to resolve any delivery issues.
The expediting clerk also monitors shipments to ensure that purchase order information matches the shipment. This can include the quantity and quality of materials. The expediter resolves inconsistencies in the order.
The expediting clerk will act as the single point of contact for shipping and receiving activities, and will perform other administrative duties relating to procurement and subcontracts as follows:
• Market research
• Cost and pricing analysis
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures to ensure file documentation is compliant with CPSR.
• Assist with the draft/negotiate modifications and change orders
• Administration of agreements to include communication with both internal and external customer
• Prepare/coordinate formal contract close-out with vendors
• Receive incoming packages, deliver package to requestor, obtain acceptance from requestor, & update CostPoint records as appropriate
• Prepare and ship outgoing packages including preparing internal logs
• Research/resolve delivery issues including running tracers on packages
Other duties as needed or required.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. Internet research abilities
2. Demonstrates professional oral and written communication skills.
3. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Excel and Word.
4. Good ethics and sound character.
5. Deals with confidential information or issues using discretion and judgment
6. Results oriented individual who enjoys both day‐to‐day activities and special projects.
7. Demonstrate a working knowledge of the FAR/DFAR/ITAR and IDIQ, CPFF, FFP, T&M subcontracts.
8. Excellent analytical, and organizational skills; and the ability to handle details, meet deadlines, and work independently under general direction.
9. Self Starter who is able to multi‐task and adapt to fast paced environment in support of multiple customers
10. Team player and ability to effectively interface with other functional departments
11. Ability to manage and prioritize large work-loads with quick turn-around.

Travel up to 10% required.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
1. CostPoint/SharePoint
2. Experience/understanding of FAR
3. Certification in Federal Contracting
4. Experience working with Federal Contracts as a Contract Professional 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Associates Degree with 1 year experience OR High School with 3 years of equivalent experience.
Bachelors in Business Administration preferred
