JOB DESCRIPTION

**This requisition is for candidates CURRENTLY working on the WFF contract, supporting the UAS Training Battalion at Ft Huachuca, AZ. Employment is Contingent Upon Contract Award**

Individuals serving as platform instructors Unmanned Scout Operations (USO) are required to provide instruction to military personnel per the following general and specific requirements:

General Instructor requirements:

1. Develops; tests; maintains; and delivers complex training programs.  
2. Establishes and reviews course content as required. 
3. Maintains records of training activities and participant progress.
4. Updates course documentation on a regular basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.  
5. May provide leadership and evaluation for other instructors, as assigned. 
6. Stays current with new training; educational; and multimedia technologies. 
7. Maintains current knowledge (currency) of all equipment and software utilized by our customer in this area. 
8. Participates in special projects within the scope of the Performance Work Statement (PWS), as required.

Specific topics, subject to change with doctrine or course updates:

1) Application of map reading techniques for UAS operations.
2) Capabilities and limitations of Army UAS Systems and their payloads.
3) Fundamentals of UAS missions with an emphasis on teaming of manned and unmanned aircraft teaming (MUM-T) missions; route, zone, and area reconnaissance; aerial surveillance; security operations; attack operations, and other UAS missions.
4) Fundamentals of laser safety, different types of lasers on UAS payloads, employment, capabilities and effective utilization of lasers during UAS missions.
5) Fundamentals of UAS tasking to include the operations process; Mission, Enemy, Terrain and Weather, Troops and Support, Time available and Civil considerations (METT-TC); and coordination of UAS collection and planning methods that encompass the Concept of Operations.
6) Fundamentals of the "five S" methodology to help identify targets. Advantages and limitations of motion imagery, imaging sensors, grazing angles, enemy deception methods and techniques, IR characteristics, capabilities, and limitations, and how to analyze and interpret IR imagery from a UAS perspective.
7) Fundamentals of Ground Considerations in operational reach to include an overview of areas, infrastructure, lines of communication (LOCs), and activities of tactical importance.
8) Fundamentals of UAS support to the tactical assets of the six respective Warfighting Functions.
9) Characteristics and limitations of intelligence and intelligence products, to include the targeting process, target intelligence, target development, target types, and combat assessment.
10) Fundamentals of the Intelligence Preparation for the Battlefield (IPB) process as an UAS operator will support the commander's tactical decision-making by providing information that enhances situational awareness of the operations environment.
11) Concepts and application of Army reporting formats to include SALUTE, SALT, SPOT, and BDA reports.
12) Concepts and application of imagery identification techniques.
13) Concepts and participants in the operations environment; the eight operational variables and the range of military operations.
14) Concepts of how an UAS operates in offensive, defensive, stability, and defensive support of civil authorities operations.
15) Fratricide and how to prevent it as a UAS operator through positive identification of targets and situational awareness.
16) Concepts and application of military Symbology.
17) IAW AR 95-23, TC 3-04.11, and TC 3-04.45, preparatory to system specific training in the operation of Shadow 200 and Gray Eagle UAS.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

1) CURRENTLY teaching USO in the 15W MOS producing Common Core phase (see different Req posting if not)
2) Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Aviation Reconnaissance and Surveillance 
3) Strong interpersonal, coaching and team building skills
4) Excellent written and verbal communication skills
5) Must be able to ascend and descend stairs; stand for an extended period of time up to at least 50 minutes and walk at least 100 meters across uneven or unpaved surfaces 
6) Experience with the U.S. Army or other Government contracting agencies.
7) Must be a US Citizen
8) SECRET level security clearance

Preferred: 

9) Prior TRADOC experience; 
10) Experience supporting Shadow 200, Hunter, Pioneer, Predator, Warrior-A, GrayEagle UAS Common Core MOS Training
11) Familiarity with ISO- certified Quality Management System 
12) Prior experience in Unmanned Aircraft System training, development and operations programs

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Graduate, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work/military experience.
Progress towards Degree in Intelligence Operations, Education or advanced instructional certifications preferred

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Must be able to support rotational shift work
Travel up to 10% required.
