JOB DESCRIPTION

The Training System Support Center Manager/Systems Engineer is responsible for:
• Ensuring the configuration management requirements of the KC-10 TS contract are met and satisfied by providing support to the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the KC-10 TS product baseline,
• Identifying and evaluating updates and modifications necessary to maintain the effectiveness and currency of the training system and it configuration concurrency with the KC-10 aircraft,
• Budgeting, planning, organizing, and controlling activities in courseware support, engineering support, logistics support, and configuration and data support functions. 

Duties include but are not limited to:
Directs, plans, controls and/or coordinates activities of Courseware Support, Engineering Support, Logistics, and Configuration and Data Management to accomplish the configuration requirements for maintenance of the integrity and traceability of the KC-10 TS baseline configuration. Ensures the configuration management requirements of the KC-10 TS contract are met and satisfied, and, specifically, that changes to the KC-10 TS baselines are managed and controlled as required. 
Co-chairs the monthly Training System Configuration Working Group meeting with the Air Force.  Chairs the monthly Internal Configuration Control Board meeting. Becomes an active member of Integrated Product Team (IPT) when a modification exceeds the TSSC capabilities. Attends the quarterly System Review Board meeting and briefs the change activity data and the aircrew training device statistics. Assumes responsibility for budgeting, planning, organizing, and controlling activities of the Training System Support Center.
Directly supervises all assigned personnel. Evaluates work performance on all direct reports in accordance with established policy on job performance communication. Coordinates with KC-10 TS sites and functions and elements of the corporate organization as necessary in the performance of job requirements. Manages assigned projects as required. 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak to various size groups as required.
• Demonstrated management and technical supervisory skills.
• Basic knowledge of Aircrew Training Systems.
• Five years recent engineering experience or management experience in Aircrew Training System Operations.
• Obtain and Maintain a SECRET security clearance.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science, or equivalent technical degree, or equivalent experience. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Must have close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Typical work hours are Monday – Friday, 0800 – 1700. Occasional overtime may be required as mission dictates.
Occasional light travel is required.
