JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is temporary and requires extensive travel. The AVCATT Computer/ Network Technician installs and troubleshoots training simulation networks consisting of power and data cables, computers, switches, thin clients, devices and servers. Performs all maintenance to include Preventive Maintenance, Checks, and Services (PMCS) to ensure the full operational capability of the simulation training systems. 
The Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT) is Army aviation’s only collective training system of record for Active, Reserve and Army National Guard aviation units. AVCATT is a mobile, transportable, multistation virtual simulation device that supports unit collective and combined arms training for helicopter aircrews. 

Essential Job Functions:
Installs training system networks, computers, servers, devices and accessories in CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Performs maintenance and troubleshooting activities on this equipment. Identify and analyze malfunctions in operational equipment. Utilize a variety of electronic measuring devices, test equipment, functional block diagrams to subsystem level, schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals, to rework, repair and maintain equipment.
Enters computer scripts on the training systems
Track warranty information on all systems still under warranty. Tracking shall include, at minimum, the items identified by part number, serial number and location.
Assemble and inventory training system kits consisting of hardware and software items
Adhere to computer-based inventory and control records of all issue and receipt transactions. Data fields shall include end item, nomenclature, serial number, action start date, completion date, and status. Inventory shall be closed out at fiscal year end, and status re- instatement (carry-over) each new fiscal year.
Perform basic and intermediate maintenance and assist with advanced and major maintenance activities.
Perform analysis and troubleshooting on equipment as required.
Perform other duties and administrative tasks as assigned by direct management or supervisors.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent communication and writing skills to document status and condition of equipment.
Possess intermediate computer and inventory skills.
Understanding of process control, energy management, and the ability to communicate effectively are essential.
Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings are desired. Industrial electrical knowledge or experience is preferred.
3-5 years applicable industrial experience, military training, technical school training, or equivalent.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

HS diploma or equivalent required.
Complete and maintain required technical training and qualifications.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

Must be able to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist and 20 pounds in awkward positions.
Secret Security Clearance
Travel is 75% to include CONUS and OCONUS
Period of Performance is expected to last through March 2020.
