JOB DESCRIPTION

Contingent upon contract award.

This job is located in Afghanistan. Work will be performed in rotations of 90 days in-country with a minimum 60-hour work week with a strong possibility of an 84-hour work week, and 30 days at home.

This position will serve as on-site crew member in support of deployed (OCONUS) UAS flight operations. Duties will include aircraft/sensor operations, mission coordinator activities, maintenance and logistical tasks in support of the Aerosonde Mk 4.7 UAS system. Perform as a Subject Matter Expert on all aspects of UAS operations. Participate in daily flight operations, site stand-ups and interface with customers. Additional duties will include emplacement, displacement, inspection and repair of associated equipment as well as proper notation of logbooks and flight records. 

Primary duties will require extensive travel, both domestically and internationally; including deployments and training exercises.
Responsibilities include:
• Operational support of deployed flight operations
• Perform as a deployed Aerosonde Mk 4.7 UAS Crew member
• Travel and deploy worldwide with military forces as required 
• Direct interface with customer 
• Work in groups or independently with minimal or no supervision 
• Will be required to work odd shifts, weekends, and/or extended hours 
• Responsible for data management and generation 
• Provides general logistics functions 
• Maintain site support equipment 
• Troubleshoots technical problems and issues and determines technical solutions 
• Practice ISO 9001 principles and concepts

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

5 years of related experience required. 
Previous deployments in support of flight operations required.
Leadership/management experience required.
At least two of the certifications required:
UAS Operator Certificate
UAS Maintainer Certificate
Mission Coordinator Experience
FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate
FAA A&P Certificate
Candidate must complete a three-week online training program hosted on an online learning portal. This course consists of aviation weather, basic data link theory, and general concepts of Aerosonde Operations as well as Aerosonde Simulator training.
Candidate must be able to safely and effectively perform the duties of an Aerosonde UAS Crew member without supervision. Duties including flight and ground equipment setup, as well as logs and records. Candidate must have the ability to coordinate flight schedules and airspace, allocate resources, frequency deconfliction and execute other day-to-day aspects of flight operations. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both verbally and in writing. Candidate must possess strong leadership skills. Basic computer skills are required. Computer networking experience is highly desired.

Preferred experience includes:
Maritime aviation and/or maintenance experience with U.S Navy or Coast Guard highly desired
Deployed UAS operations in support of military operations
Maritime UAS operations
FAA licenses or certificates such as private pilot, commercial pilot, instrument rating, CFI, CFI-I, A&P
Prior military service
Top Secret security clearance

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

2-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

Must be a US citizen with an active Secret Clearance and the ability to maintain such.
Travel is 100% in Afghanistan.
