JOB DESCRIPTION

The Flight Engineer Contractor Classroom/ADT Instructor (CCAI) is responsible for the accomplishment of ground-based training for all KC-10 Flight Crew Specialties and Maintenance Engine Run Technicians.  This position instructs and measures training progress of Flight Engineer and Maintenance Engine Run students enrolled in the established training curriculum.

Conducts Flight Crew and Maintenance Engine Run training using the classroom, training systems, and devices such as Computer Based Training (CBT), Flight Training Device (FTD), Weapon System Trainer (WST), and the KC-10 airplane. Evaluates, diagnoses, critiques student performance, identifies learning difficulties, recognizes objectives not accomplished and prescribes remedial instruction.  Documents training records in sufficient detail to determine objectives met and pertinent information characterizing student progress. 

Operates Student Management System.  Interfaces with students and provides on-the-spot remediation or determines other courses of action. Extracts student data, analyzes results, and prepares for student review sessions.

Reviews assigned CBT lessons and classroom lesson plans to include suggested changes and Quality Assurance of lessons and lesson plans when changes are made. Maintains a high standard of instructional proficiency and knowledge of methodology of instruction and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for students and company personnel as required.

Periodically attends Operations Group Stan/Eval Boards (SEB) and Training Review Panels (TRP), as well as Flight Training Unit (FTU) instructor meetings. Attends HQ AMC curriculum reviews, HQ AMC Stan/Eval Conferences or Systems Program Office Flight Manual Review Conferences (FMRC) if required.

Flies on the airplane (as required) in an observer status to maintain currency on operational procedures and to observe student progress.
Assists in project and development as assigned
Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to clearly relay information, both verbally and written, to others.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers.
Possess an active SECRET Security Clearance.
Successfully accomplish an annual internal standardization evaluation.
Special emphasis is placed on experience as a flight instructor in aircraft type and on instructional experience in general.  
Shall have two (2) years of flight instructor experience.
Must have KC-10 instructor experience within five (5) years of hiring date, or able to obtain an AMC/A3TK waiver.  
Shall have ten (10) years’ experience as a fixed wing performance flight engineer.  Flight experience may be a combination of military and commercial airlines.  

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Associates Degree or higher. Must have accomplished or can obtain an Instructor Methodology Course accepted by the CCAF.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (Certifications, Etc.)

While performing the duties of this job, the teammate is regularly required to talk and/or hear; to sit, stand and/or walk; and use hands and/or fingers, to handle or feel objects or controls.  The teammate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; and stoop or kneel.   The teammate is frequently required to ingress/egress from the simulator and aircraft, occasionally work in inclement weather and temperature extremes as set forth in the Air Force and company guidelines.  The teammate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  The teammate must have close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.  The noise level ranges from quiet to extremely loud. The teammate must be able to exit the Weapon System Trainer (WST) by way of rope escape ladder.
Typical work hours are Monday – Friday, 0600 – 2400 and adjusted to meet the training schedule. Occasional weekends and overtime may be required as mission dictates.
Travels and works at remote sites as required. 
Must be a US Citizen.
